Chaordic Me
So here I am....chaordic me...My name is Arjen Bos, 36 y/o living in and working from Utrecht, The Netherlands.
Husband of Mirjam, father of Thomas (5 y/o) and Tamar (2 y/o).
Since having lived in various places in The Netherlands: Ter Aar, Boxmeer, Leiden, Zoetermeer, Amsterdam and Utrecht, I come to the conclusion that Amsterdam is my true home but Utrecht makes a good number two :-)
After highschool, I spent a year in the Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA, which offered a nice pathway into Theatre School back in Amsterdam. After one and a half year of learning to become a theatre director I felt to be in the wrong place and quit. The next step was Organisational Anthropology (Culture, Organisation & Management) at the Free University (Vrije Universiteit) in Amsterdam.
My professional career has mainly included positions as freelancer and self-employed entrepreneur. I have worked as freelance trainer for the Youth Directorates of the European Union and the Council of Europe, as a training director with the European Federation for Intercultural Learning and as freelance trainer and teacher for communication skills.
The most significant step on my professional path so far has been my partnership with Peter Merry that started in February 2000. We joined forces with his brother and my good mate Tim Merry and co-founded Engage! InterAct. In its eleven years of existence Engage! built up a rich history of encounters and experiences and it is still my good work home, to continually learn to become an authentic, resilient and sustainable practioner, to be fully present and to boldly what needs to be done next. Welcoming Tatiana Glad as partner in Engage! five years ago is still one of our wisest decisions. She is the Fourth Musketeer.
My most recent and significant adventure commenced in 2008 and has been the design and launch of CHE Synnervate and CHE School of Synnervation. In my lead role in this organisation I'm learning to practice myself everything this website talks about...
